Our scurvy sea dogs are on a sub quest to now find a key for a dark elf , having already found the book for an evil sea captain , during this sub quest they are on another sub quest to help some kobolds get a dragon back , in return they will tell them where the key is.
Confused……. no ……..good then I’ll continue.
They encounter a group of terrible looking elves/Goblins (if wasn’t confusing enough), with what looks fungal sap on their skin, each time one is killed it forms the parts of a huge fungal spider, in a close fight , the defeat this fungal monstrosity and it turns in to a liquid and drains through the cracks in the floor.
Cut to a cavernous room under a huge giant fortress , after finishing the epic fight, a bird appears and lands on Shallelu`s shoulder, looking distressed.
“My sister is in trouble and must be saved! I must leave now, the decemvirate have sent a replacement, this is Eando Kline ( pronounced Eendo) “ with that she turns into a bird and fly’s away .
But standing before isn’t a bird anymore , a slender man , armed and looking dangerous , as the characters fill him in on what’s been happening , they start checking rooms , they find the shrine of lamashtu , home of the lamia and the Lokansirs shrine to the ancient rune lords . The rune activates when they enter and again the huge tattooed giant attacks the characters, they fight hard and eando seems a good acquisition , they defeat the terrible giant .
We then find ourselves in the debauched lumber town of falcon hollow, where a drunken magus and gunslinger are woken by a sober Summoner and shadow cleric . but have both found out the old healer Loral once in was last seen with a young elf girl, travelling to the old monastery at Doskars crag . After a sobering up and breaking their fast , they set off through the mysterious dark wood, home of trappers , loggers and foul creatures alike.
The Lumber Consortium Camp cuts an ugly scar of stumps into a dense stand of proud dark wood trees. Five sturdy-looking log buildings— seemingly a bunkhouse, meal hall, office, barn, and smithy—stand with numerous wide carts and sleds amid the sawdust-covered clearing
A meeting with the foreman gains them no information other than watch for ogre kin , kobolds and wyverns , nothing about were rats of course.
Making their way through the forest they see a shrouded lake.
Not far from the edge of the forest-shrouded lake, a fox with large ears and bright orange fur lies bleeding, its hindquarters caught fully in the jaws of a crude iron trap. The fox is a Dark moon fire foot, a species of fennec unique to this region
The fire foot is badly injured, its hindquarters slashed by the ogrekins trap. The pelt is worth a lot of money.
It’s a trap of course and our group is attacked by Grung Knifetongue and his dog named …well … dog!
With the summoner is knocked out the rest of the group have a pretty difficult fight , but over come , with a well placed dart it finally dies.
With that over we are back in the dungeons below Jorgenfist , strange monks are afoot as they make their way to the tunnel to the library , the priests of sararae find it difficult to step into the passage , whilst Eando movers down easily, he is confronted by a monk , who beckons him further down . But a strange illness takes him and he collapses. Feeling despair!
Using combined bardic, Arcane and religious knowledge they gleen the following.
The Black Tower is part of an ancient building from Thassilon’s time, once known as the Therassic Monastery. The tower itself served as a bell tower and lookout location for an order of evil monks devoted to the worship of the Peacock Spirit, a mysterious faith whose rituals were kept secret from all but the initiated. The tower’s gargoyles depict saints and demons of the Thassilonian pantheon,
though they are so weathered that they are unrecognizable today save as vaguely demonic forms. The ancient monks were protectors of the library and now despise Mokmurian, more monks and hand each player a scroll.
They make their way down and enter the library……………………
